I’ve always been interested in ice hockey, I played roller hockey as a kid – but due to work and other commitments I’ve never been able to watch it live from the US and Canada. Because I’ve got some flexibility now, I’ve decided to give it a shot.
I was doing some research into the NHL’s Game Center Live service, which allows you to watch live streams of games for a fixed fee of $50 a year. The good thing is you can actually want them live (the FA has a LOT to learn!) but the bad thing is that due to a deal with Premier Sports, all NHL games will be blacked out in the UK. I posted yesterday about how I managed to watch NHL Game Center Live without blackouts, and have been inundated with emails and messages from people asking how exactly do you set it up. I’ll be making a video about all of this at some point this week too.
It’s pretty easy, there are 3 things that you need. An Unblock-Us account, a NHL Game Center Live Subscription & one of the supported devices in this list and to have it set up to use the special Unblock-Us settings. Continue reading
In the last couple of day Unblock-us have announced a mobile website. This site lets you check service and switch regions all from your mobile device. Perfect for when you’re on the sofa away from the computer, and really can’t be bothered getting up!
Just head on over to their site – they’ve also made a guide about how to use it. They make it clear that it’s still in beta, so there might be some teething issues. Continue reading
Some of you who follow me on Twitter noticed that last week I was talking about a new service that allows you to search films on Netflix & Hulu and it’ll tell you which Netflix region they’re available in. Well… Moreflicks has just gone live with a preview of it’s service – which does exactly that and even searches Hulu & Hulu+ too, with compatibility with more streaming services promised in the future.
For so so long now since I had the ability to switch Netflix regions, it’s been such a pain to search the different regions. Especially as the likes of Netflix Mexico gets films even before they’re out on DVD here.
Moreflicks want to hear your feedback too, they understand the importance of listening to their users, which is why they want to involve people at such an early stage. Just click on the feedback tab on the left of the page. It couldn’t be simpler.
A multi-region Netflix search engine? YES PLEASE!!
I love making this in the winter when the weather is dull outside. In fact it’s my favorite soup
